Ever since Tom Hiddleston suavely sauntered onto our television screens in the BBC adaptation of The Night Manager, he has impressed and inspired us with his sharp sense of style. In fact, a quick Google search of Hiddleston showcases his penchant for impeccably tailored suits and statement knitwear; his wardrobe offers a modern take on classic British clothing, bringing full-length wool coats and pocket squares firmly into the 21st century.
Hiddleston’s refined style has never been more evident than in a recent photo shoot with our friends at The Gentleman’s Journal. In a look carefully put together by stylist Holly Eva White, Hiddleston wears a sleek grey suit, open collar-white shirt, light brown suede shoes, and our Simply Sartorial socks in Royal Navy.
The interview, entitled ‘Tom Hiddleston’s Day Off’, features a series of photographs of the actor relaxing in North London, elegantly sitting in a vintage car and deftly poised on a terraced brick wall. The convergence of his coiffed longer hair with an exquisitely tailored suit encapsulates Hiddleston’s British heritage while nodding to the more casual style of the contemporary gentleman. Enhanced by Hiddleston’s nonchalant pose, this ensemble perfectly achieves the no-tie yet formal dress code that many of us struggle with.
Grey suits can be notoriously tricky to get right. However, Hiddleston’s look artfully balances the lighter shade of grey with our Simply Sartorial in Royal Navy. The subtle flash of blue adds warmth to the outfit while letting the grey and brown tones take centre stage. The result? Hiddleston displays his mastery of the smart-casual look.
