Autumnal trends for your sock drawer - London Sock Company

Autumnal trends for your sock drawer

Ah, the seasonal shift. Style blogs love waxing lyrical about the September seasonal shift, but as the month marches on towards winter and summer essentials are relegated towards the back of the wardrobe, it’s time to ready the autumn staples. While some fashion trends shift with each passing season, at LSC we are fans of timeless style. Classic statements that will stand the test of time. Here, our style team has shown how you can embrace our favourite timeless seasonal trends in your sock style, to help take the guesswork out of going from summer to autumn socks.

Explore darker hues of your favourite colours

It’s natural to gravitate towards darker colours when the temperature dips, but that doesn’t mean going back to black or grey. If throughout the summer your go-to was Simply Sartorial Pink Friday socks, move to its tonal autumnal cousin, Simply Sartorial Rich Burgundy. The seasonal switch up for light blues is the chic Bond St. Herringbone in Blue, for those nippy autumn days.

Pin your pattern to the mast

Autumn is all about the patterns. Classic checks, handsome herringbones, sophisticated spots. It is a simple way to add some flair without too much effort. Shaken & Stirred in Russet is an ideal choice for this season. Warm, modern yet timeless, it can really lift old favourites like beige chinos. Prefer something more subtle? Go for Spot of Style in Burgundy – a splash of wine red with understated spots.

A bolt (out) of the blue

What colour consistently makes your outfit look polished? The trusty hue of blue. There is a reason why it is the shade most consistently reached for by those looking for a steadfast classic. Add a vivid pop with Simply Sartorial in Midnight Blue or keep it elegant and understated with Simply Sartorial in Dusk Blue. For something a bit more relaxed? Try Simply Marl in Denim Blue, with its lovely twisted yarn.

Warm tones are the way forward

Your wool trousers, jumpers and jackets will often be a cooler palette of colours (think greys and blacks), so adding in warm tones will boost the details in your look. Try our the iconic East India saffron or a merino in Dijon for a golden warmth, or the rich tones of Ottaway Style Purple or Spot of Style in Bordeaux.

Months made for merino socks

Merino wool is a bit of a super yarn. Warm, soft, highly durable, moisture-wicking and breathable, merino wool socks are ideal for autumn's changeable weather patterns. Our Simply Merino socks are finely knitted with an elegant rib, making them the perfect seasonal style for your work wardrobe. Try in British Racing Green with chinos or grey trousers, or in Dijon for a pop with navy or denim.Man in a hotel, relaxing on a chair with his feet up, wearing merino socks in British racing green
